This month’s Spotlight shines a light on Holloway Neighbourhood Group, and their delivery at the Old Fire Station and Stress Project.
In the last financial year, over 300 new people have registered to take part in activities and workshops, with 25% of total service users living in the hyperlocal area..
Across the last year, 2,868 sessions have been delivered including gentle exercise, yoga, men’s socials, gardening, art, mindfulness, and much more.
Across the year, there was a 24% increase in people accessing these classes, with 92% of those attending hearing about the centre through word of mouth.
HNG’s work has been supported by volunteers, with 3,397.5 volunteering hours given in the last year.
These hours were given by 70 volunteers, who have given time and commitment to support the range of services provided.
The Stress Project’s mindfulness courses saw 100% of participants continuing what they’d learnt after completing the course. 91% of participants reported being better able to cope with stress, and 77% reported increased physical health.
The Stress Project saw a 45% increase in counselling referrals in the year, with 148 people accessing counselling.
