Reflections… Community Organising Training

As part of the Local Wellbeing Networks project, we began our latest series of Community Organising training in early July 2023, with one set of online training, and one in-person session.

Here’s some of the feedback from those who took part:

“I have worked with communities for years, but found this training really thought provoking. I am going to start by chatting to community members in my patch about what their issues are and what is important to them, instead of simply telling them what they and I can do”

"I am not always good at listening, but am reminded not to impose ideas and thoughts on others and giving others space and time to express themselves - not easy for me, but you have given me the tools”

"I had seen this before and covered it in a workshop but that was years ago now and it was great to be reminded of it and to see it anew. Makes me want to learn more."

“Important to listen to others. Do not do for others what they can do for themselves.”

We had lots of great discussions across the sessions, and we loved hearing from participants about the work they’re doing in their communities, and how they will embed the Community Organising approach.
