Octopus Communities*, based in Islington Octopus is a unique collaboration between community centres in Islington and is the Co-ordinator for Islington's Commnity Hubs Network.

Community Centres play a significant part in the life of many
local communities and networks. To really appreciate the importance
and dynamic nature of community centres, it is interesting to know
that our roots are in mutual aid, friendly societies, the
development of adult education, neighbourhood social centres, and
social welfare organisation in neighbourhoods. We are and
always will be hives of social action!
