Community Hubs Events:

All of the Hubs had an expansive range of events going on in the community this summer.  Here's some of the highlights:
  • Caxton House

The team at Caxton House are really embracing 'Health and Wellbeing' by increasing their programme of affordable exercise classes, including Family Zumba and Yoga.  All of the projects at Caxton have been encouraged to take part with a view to keeping us all fit and healthy during the winter months.  Take a look at their website for more info.

  • Bemerton Hub

The Bemerton Hub has launched its new timetable which is jam-packed with regular activities ranging from gardening to keep-fit, salsa to pottery, and youth projects to women only projects.

  • Hilldrop

Hilldrop's ever expanding programme now includes regular activities on Hilldrop's brand-new ball games court, a resident led gardening group, after school and out of school play programme, and sewing and singing classes.

  • Highbury Roundhouse

Highbury Roundhouse continues to deliver an impressive programme of enrichment classes, after school and out of school programme, and fitness classes.

  • Whittington Park

Whittington Park's cafe is open Mon-Sat and provides a great place to meet friends and neighbours. The impressive timetable of activities includes out of school and after school activities, fitness classes, arts and crafts worshops, and music classes.

  • HNG

Known to a number of locals as The Old Fire Station, HNG continues to provide a range of services for the local community including lunch clubs and social activities for older people, and health and wellbeing activities.

  • Peel Centre

The Peel Centre has an excellent youth-led programme of activities including sports and construction, and a dedicated youth cafe; a extensive programme for out of school and after school activities, and for older people a programme of health and wellbeing activities, including great lunches.

  • St Luke’s

Social Sunday, the Cookery School, the over 55's project, Men's Shed programme - to mention a few are only a small part of St Luke's extensive programme of delivery.  Visit their website for more information.

We'd like to celebrate the following

  • Hilldrop Community Centre will be developing a year-long programme of community sports activities as a result of supporting the redevelopment of an unused games area - watch this space for more information.
  • The Old Laundry (Hanley Crouch) is developing an excellent relationship with the Islington Arts and Media School, and they are consulting locally on the plans for their brand-new building.

We've been looking at what the Hubs are up to and the following get our 'likes'...

  • Young Ambassadors Mental Health Sessions at The Peel Centre every Friday
  • The Sunday Social at St Luke's Community Centre - the 'full works' roast dinner, excellent!
  • A brand-new Capoeira session at St Luke's Community Centre between 4:30-6:00pm every Thursday
